Head of DevOps (m/f/d)

We are looking for a proactive leader to drive the adoption of the DevOps principles in the engineering function, focusing on infrastructure, automation, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.
This position is available immediately in full-time (40hrs./week) within Germany or UK remotely or at one of our office locations.

Define and implement a comprehensive DevOps strategy and roadmap aligned with the organization’s technology goals, fostering self-sufficient, multi-disciplinary squads with a “you build it, you own it” approach.

Lead and mentor the DevOps engineering team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture, while tracking KPI’s and driving continuous improvement to address operational issues and performance challenges.

Collaborate with engineering leaders and stakeholders to identify and implement automation, process improvements, and efficiency gains within the development and deployment pipeline, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability.

Establish and maintain best practices for CI/CD, build and maintain robust infrastructure platforms, and integrate DevOps practices into Agile development processes for rapid, reliable software releases.

Collaborate with IT and InfoSec teams to ensure infrastructure resources are secure, scalable, and efficient, incorporating security best practices and managing cloud-based environments.

Several years of experience managing DevOps teams and functions, demonstrating strong leadership skills in an dynamic environment.

Proven track of implementing and managing CI/CD processes and automation tools, ensuring reliable deployments aligned with DevOps practices and tools, including configuration management, containerization, and orchestration.

Strong understanding of infrastructure management, cloud computing (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), and network architecture, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-availability infrastructure platforms.

Deep knowledge of DevOps practices, tools, and the software development lifecycle, including Agile methodologies for rapid and reliable software releases.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, enabling the identification and resolution of operational issues, bottlenecks, and performance challenges, while driving continuous improvement.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, fostering a results-oriented mindset focused on delivering efficient and reliable software deployments.
