Head of DevOps (m/f/d)

We are looking for a proactive leader to drive the adoption of the DevOps principles in the engineering function, focusing on infrastructure, automation, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.

This position is available immediately in full-time (40hrs./week) within Germany or UK remotely or at one of our office locations.

• Define and implement a comprehensive DevOps strategy and roadmap aligned with the organization’s technology goals, fostering self-sufficient, multi-disciplinary squads with a “you build it, you own it” approach.

• Lead and mentor the DevOps engineering team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture, while tracking KPI’s and driving continuous improvement to address operational issues and performance challenges.

• Collaborate with engineering leaders and stakeholders to identify and implement automation, process improvements, and efficiency gains within the development and deployment pipeline, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability.

• Establish and maintain best practices for CI/CD, build and maintain robust infrastructure platforms, and integrate DevOps practices into Agile development processes for rapid, reliable software releases.

• Collaborate with IT and InfoSec teams to ensure infrastructure resources are secure, scalable, and efficient, incorporating security best practices and managing cloud-based environments.

• Several years of experience managing DevOps teams and functions, demonstrating strong leadership skills in an dynamic environment.

• Proven track of implementing and managing CI/CD processes and automation tools, ensuring reliable deployments aligned with DevOps practices and tools, including configuration management, containerization, and orchestration.

• Strong understanding of infrastructure management, cloud computing (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), and network architecture, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-availability infrastructure platforms.

• Deep knowledge of DevOps practices, tools, and the software development lifecycle, including Agile methodologies for rapid and reliable software releases.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, enabling the identification and resolution of operational issues, bottlenecks, and performance challenges, while driving continuous improvement.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, fostering a results-oriented mindset focused on delivering efficient and reliable software deployments.
