Zum 01.12.2023 besetzen wir im Fernstudium der IU Internationalen Hochschule (IU) eine Professur (m/w/d) im Studiengang Maschinenbau in Voll- oder Teilzeit.

Deine Aufgaben

Du vertrittst die spezifischen Fächer im Studiengang Maschinenbau
Du übernimmst Verantwortung in der Entwicklung des Fachgebiets sowie seiner Studiengänge
Du bist an der kreativen Entwicklung von Lehrformaten innerhalb des didaktischen Konzeptes der IU Internationalen Hochschule für das Onlinestudium beteiligt und entwickelst in kollegialer Zusammenarbeit eine digitale Studienwelt weiter
Betreuung von Abschlussarbeiten
Gelegentlich kannst Du Präsenzseminare an einem Standort der IU Internationalen Hochschule Deiner Wahl durchführen

Idealerweise übernimmst Du praxisnahe und anwendungsbezogene Lehrveranstaltungen insbesondere in den Bereichen:

Einführung in die Maschinenelemente
Technische Thermodynamik
Handhabungs- und Montagetechnik
Werkzeugmaschinen
Mechanische Verfahrenstechnik

Dein Profil

Der Ansatz der IU Internationale Hochschule ist es, praxisnahe Inhalte zu vermitteln. Daher wird ein:e Expert:in im Bereich Maschinenbau gesucht, welche:r sich aus der bisherigen Berufspraxis und wissenschaftlichen Arbeit durch umfassende, herausragende fachliche Kompetenz sowie pädagogische Fähigkeiten auszeichnet und diese in die Lehre an der IU einbringt. 

Du hast ein Hochschulstudium im Bereich Maschinenbau mit herausragenden Leistungen abgeschlossen.
Du verfügst über fünf Jahre Berufserfahrung, davon drei Jahre außerhalb der Hochschule.
Du hast zudem Erfahrungen in der Lehre gesammelt und bist am Einsatz moderner Hochschuldidaktik interessiert. Idealerweise hast Du Erfahrung in der Online-Lehre oder Videoproduktion
Du verfügst über aktuelle Forschungs-/Publikationstätigkeiten
Kollegialität, Kooperation, sowie Zuverlässigkeit zeichnen Dich aus.
Du bist innovativ und bringst eigene Ideen für die Umsetzung von Onlinelehre mit
Du verfügst über Deutschkenntnisse auf C2 Niveau des Europäischen Referenzrahmens

Am I a permanent employee or freelancer in IU Academia?

Our Professors are permanently employed and our Lecturers, Tutors, and Authors are all Freelancers.

Is there a teacher forum for discussion & exchange?

Absolutely! At every location we have a regular faculty conference. We also encourage dialogue via our collaboration tools and all our module leaders are available for questions at any time.

What is the application process for a lecturer assignment?

Once we review your application you will receive a further questionnaire by e-mail to be completed and returned. We will promptly send you relevant information by e-mail about teaching at IU. We will also inform you about the process regarding a trial lecture.

When do lectures take place in dual studies?

Our dual study program includes modules that take place every two weeks and modules that are taught every week on specific days. Normally, our lectures for a module take place in blocks of 4-6 UE (UE = 45 minutes). Planning of the blocks is done in consultation with our lecturers. The weekly teaching hours are: Mon-Fri 8:00-20:00.
