As a Salesforce Engineering Manager (m/f/d) at IU, you will take on a hybrid role that combines strong leadership abilities with hands-on technical expertise in the Salesforce environment. You will lead a dedicated team of ten engineers and two administrators, guiding them through complex projects and fostering a culture of technical excellence. Reporting directly to the Director of Sales & Service Technology, your responsibilities will encompass both the effective management of your team and active participation in Salesforce development projects. In this pivotal role, you will ensure that our Salesforce solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with our business objectives.
This role is perfect for a seasoned Salesforce professional who is passionate about using technology to solve business challenges and who thrives in a leadership position. You will have direct reports and will be expected to contribute to development efforts at a Senior Engineer level, spending some of your time actively developing.
- Lead by example, providing technical guidance and mentorship to an agile team of Salesforce engineers.
- Foster an innovative and inclusive team culture that encourages collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
- Advocate for and support the implementation of AI across the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Work in close collaboration with the Director of Sales & Service Technology and other leaders to define and advance engineering strategies and practices.
- Align team efforts with the overarching product roadmap and business objectives, ensuring the delivery of high-quality Salesforce solutions.
- Optimize team workflows and processes to enhance development efficiency and effectiveness.
- Remain hands-on with Salesforce development, including coding, configuration, and customization, using Apex, Lightning, and various APIs.
- Ensure the creation and maintenance of a robust, secure, and scalable Salesforce ecosystem that integrates seamlessly with other systems and third-party tools.
- Encourage strong collaboration between your squad and other teams, ensuring alignment and knowledge sharing across projects and initiatives.
- Several years of hands-on experience in Salesforce development, with proven expertise in Salesforce configuration, Apex, Lightning, APIs, and integrated solutions.
- 2+ years of engineering management experience in a Salesforce-related environment, with a track record of managing and mentoring individual contributors.
- A proponent of AI who has actively embedded it into both the Salesforce platform and the SDLC.
- Comprehensive understanding of Salesforce best practices, design patterns, and limits.
- Skilled in Agile project management methodologies, facilitating an environment of continuous integration and delivery.
- Adept at navigating complex technical challenges and providing innovative and efficient solutions.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities, capable of engaging effectively with technical teams, stakeholders, and non-technical audiences alike.
